Turkmenistan's real GDP growth exceeded 9 percent in first half of 2013Turkmenistan’s real GDP growth in the first half of 2013 was 9.4 percent. According to the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent in Ashgabat, this was reported at the last government meeting discussing the socio-economic performance of the country over 6 months. 

As a whole, all sectors of the national economy developed rapidly in the reported period. For example, the rate of the industry’s growth amounted to 6.6 percent, construction sector’s growth - 17.7 per cent, the service sector’s growth - 11.3 percent and agricultural growth- 7 percent.
Significant growth is reported in the construction industry. At present, some 1865 facilities are being erected in the country, while capital investments exceeded US $ 41 billion. Of this amount, US $ 13 billion are being used by the national companies of Turkmenistan for construction of facilities.
