Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan moving forward to build cross regional transport corridors

On August 5-6, 2014in Muscat city the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan joined the meeting of Foreign Ministers from the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding on implementation of the Agreement on the Establishment of an International Transport and Transit Corridor between the Governments of Iran, Oman, Qatar, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. As it is known, the Agreement was signed in Ashgabat on April, 2011.

In Muscat the ministers noted that implementation of Ashgabat Agreement will further promote mutually beneficial trade-economic partnership between the countries of Central Asia and the Middle East. This meeting is an important step toward sustainable development of the regions.

There has been a bilateral meetings of Turkmen delegation with counterparts from Iran, Oman and Uzbekistan. Current bilateral agenda and futher development of mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed
