Turkmen and British scientists work on inclusion of Badkhyz and Koytendag in the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites

Turkmen biologists and experts of the UK Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) have made joint expeditions to Koytendag and Badkhyz (protected areas) and the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. As part of the expeditions, they carried out work on preparation of the nomination dossier for inclusion of Badkhyz and Koytendag in the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites.

According to Stephanie Ward, specialist for development of international management plans at the RSPB international department for country programmes, the research work has made it possible to verify that natural areas of Badkhyz and Koytendag represent a complex of natural attractions that are worthy of inclusion in the list of world heritage sites.
